The Spanish Iñigo Vidondo, has taken part for the first time in a World Cup of Speed Skating, after classifying with the minimum mark at Hamar, Norway.
In his first 1,500 meter race, Vidondo finished 40th. His career, after switching from roller skating is progressing very fast and he keeps his sight on Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.

Ivan Tibau has met the sportmen, as well as their coach, Sandra Gómez. The meeting, which took place at the Consell Català de l’Esport offices in Esplugues de Llobregat, was also attended by Oscar Cruz, President de la Federació Catalana d’Esports d’Hivern (FCEH); Oscar Grau, Director of the Barcelona-Pyrenees bid for the Olympic Games 2026; Ruben Llop, responsible for the sport at the FCEH and Quim Pastor, secretary of the Catalan Federation of Skate, since both skaters originated at the roller-skating speed competition.
The European competition will be held in Dordrecht (Netherlands) form the 23rd to the 25th of January and will be decisive to determine who of the two skaters will take part in the World Series that will be held in Moscow in the middle of March.
